Here is a little history about why the
Leonberger Club of America has donated money to the Rock Springs Dog
Park. For those of you who do not remember there was an accident on I-80
December 11, 2006. The road was a sheet of ice and a couple traveling
slid off the road. The vehicle rolled and injuring the two people and
ejecting two 8 weeks old Leonberger puppies.
The male Oso was recovered a couple of days
later by a citizen and the female, Oriana was found a couple days after
that by Road & Bridge employees. The Leonberger Club of America had
started a reward fund but the citizens involved in finding the puppies
did not want money for there efforts. The club was really thankful to
the community efforts and wanted to do something nice for the county.
They heard about the dog park that was going to be built and decided to
donate the money towards this park.
All of us
here at the Rock Springs City and Sweetwater County would like to THANK
the community for all their help and effort in finding these two
beautiful puppies. We hope that everyone will come and enjoy the dog
park when it is complete later this year in 2008.
