Article 6-2 NAMING AND RE-NAMING STREETS 6-201 Changing Names of Certain Streets and Avenues.
Eighth Street and
Eighth Avenue in Lowell Addition to Clark Street; Rainbow Avenue to Pilot
Butte Avenue; Briggs Street between Blocks 11 and 12 in Pilot Butte
Addition, and between Blocks 4 and 5 in Bunning Addition, to Soulsby Street;
Third Street South of Block 9, to Rennie Street; Second Street between
Blocks 15 and 20, 16 and 19, 17 and 18, to O'Donnell Street; First Street
between Blocks 21 and 27, 20 and 28, 19 and 29, 18 and 30, to Gobel Street;
Spruce Street between Blocks 1 and 7, 2 and 6, 3 and 5, in Kendall Addition,
to Ludvig Street; Second Street between Blocks 1 and 2, 5 and 6, 7 and 8, in
Central Coal & Coke Company's First Addition, to Lee Street; Spruce Street
between Blocks 2 and 3 in Central Coal & Coke Company's First Addition, to
Potter Street; Spruce Street between Blocks 4 and 5, 8 and 9, in Central
Coal & Coke Company's First Addition, and Blocks 16 and 17, 15 and 18, and
14 and 19, in said Company's Second Addition, to McCabe Street; Cedar Street
between Block 9 in Central Coal & Company's First Addition, and Block 22 in
said Company's Second Addition, and between Blocks 17 and 22, 18 and 21, and
19 and 20, in the latter Addition, to Thorpe Street; Second Street between
Blocks 10 and 14, 12 and 13, in Central Coal & Coke Company's Second
Addition, to Hill Street; G Street west of Blocks 1, 2 and 3, in Central
Coal & Coke Company's First Addition, to Gale Street; Spruce Street adjacent
to Blocks 53, 54 and 55, U.P. Railroad Company's Third Addition and Blocks
31, 32, 33, 34 and 35 in said Company's Second Addition, to Blair Avenue;
Hicksley Street along south side of Block 5 in Wardell Addition, and Main
Street along North side of the Belmont Addition, to D Street. (Ord. No. 352,
1-21-29; Rev. Ord. 1938; Rev. Ord. 1963).
The street lying
north of Blocks 1 and 6, in Central Coal and Coke Company's First Addition,
and Blocks 10, 11 and 12 in said Company's Second Addition, named Edgar
Street. (Ord. No. 352, 1-21-29; Rev. Ord. 1938; Rev. Ord. 1963). A piece, parcel or tract of land located in the Southwest Quarter (SW1/4) of Section 26, Township 19 North, Range 105 West, 6th P.M., Sweetwater County, Wyoming, said parcel being described as follows: Beginning at a point which is the most southerly corner of that certain tract of land conveyed to Samuel G. and Ardis Doan by the Union Pacific Coal Company by deed No. 1067, dated June 4th, 1940, filed in the County Clerk's Office on February 4th, 1941 in Book 115 at Page 313, and from whence the South Quarter corner of said Section 26 bears South 20° 07' 49" East, a distance of 2011.26 feet;
Thence North 59° 43' 30"
West, a distance of 159.09 feet to a point which is the northwesterly corner
of the tract conveyed to Toby Carillo and Mary Carillo, husband and wife, by
the Union Pacific Coal Company by Deed No. 1085, dated April 1, 1941, filed
in the Sweetwater County Clerk's Office on February 26, 1942, in Book 115,
Page 342; thence South 53° 34' West, along the extension southwesterly of
the northwesterly line of the aforesaid Carillo tract, a distance of 44.6
feet more or less to a point on the northerly right of way line of the Union
Pacific Railroad Company's mine spur, said right of way having been conveyed
by the Union Pacific Coal Company by Deed No.10569-D, dated August 20, 1926,
recorded in the records of the Sweetwater County Clerk's Office in Book 101,
on Page 383, said point being located on a 04° 08' 42" curve; thence
easterly along the northerly right of way line of Union Pacific Railroad
Company's Mine Spur, and along said curve to the left a distance of 159.1
feet more or less, to a point on the northwesterly boundary line of the
Union Pacific Coal Company's Brooks Addition, filed and recorded in the
Sweetwater County Clerk's Office on February 13, 1926, in Book 101, Page
338; thence northeasterly along the said northwesterly boundary line of said
Brooks Addition a distance of 44.6 feet, more or less, to the point of
beginning. heretofore, and now used, as a street be, and it is hereby, named
Railroad Avenue. (Ord. No. 1637, 5-3-65). That the following described tract of land, to-wit: A piece, parcel or tract of land, located in the Southwest Quarter (SW1/4) of Section 26, Township 19 North, Range 105 West, 6th P.M., Sweetwater County, Wyoming said parcel being described as follows:
Beginning at a point which
is the most easterly corner of the tract conveyed to Kenneth J. Pederson and
Bonnie J. Pederson, husband and wife, by the Union Pacific Coal Company,
Deed No. 1826, dated October 4, 1961, and recorded in the records of the
Sweetwater County Clerk's Office on November 2, 1961, in Book 288 at Pages
568 and 569, said point being located North 07° 01' 17" West a distance of
2431.6 feet from the South Quarter corner of Section 26, Township 19 North,
Range 105 West; thence North 36° 27' West along the northeasterly line of
the said Pederson tract a distance of 210.0 feet; thence North 53° 34' East,
a distance of 50.0 feet; thence South 36° 27' East, a distance of 210.0 feet
along the boundary line of the tract of land conveyed to James A. Macy by
the Union Pacific Coal Company Deed No. 1843, dated April 3, 1962, to the
most southerly corner of the said Macy tract; thence South 53° 34' West, a
distance of 50.0 feet to the point of beginning, heretofore and now used, as
a street be, and it is hereby, named Soulsby Street. (Ord. No. 1637,
5-3-65).
That the name of X Street
in the Union Pacific Coal Company's Fourth Addition to Rock Springs,
Wyoming, be and it is hereby changed and renamed El Rancho Street. (Ord. No.
1844, 1-5-70). That the name of 22nd Street in the Prairie Addition to the City of Rock Springs, Wyoming, be, and it is hereby changed and renamed to Jade Drive.
All ordinances or
parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are
hereby repealed. (Ord. No. 75-7, 2-18-75). (a) That the name of that certain portion of Dewar Drive within the city limits of the City of Rock Springs, Wyoming, which continues in a southwesterly direction from the intersection of Dewar Drive and Gateway Boulevard, said portion being also known as 1-80 Southside Service Road or Old U.S. Highway 30, be, and it is hereby, changed and renamed to Sunset Drive; and that Dewar Drive as it continues in a northwesterly direction from said intersection to its intersection with Foothill Boulevard shall continue to be known as Dewar Drive. (b) All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. (Ord. No. 77-2, 2-1-77).
