Article 9-1 GENERAL TAXES
9-101 Council to Determine
Amount of Taxes for Current Year.
The City Council shall, on or before the first Monday in April of each
year, determine the amount of the General Tax for the current year necessary
to meet the current expenses of the City of Rock Springs, and shall also, at
the same time, provide for any special tax or assessment that may be necessary
to be levied and which may be within the corporate powers of the City of Rock
Springs, provided, that such amount shall not be greater than that provided by
the limitation in regard to taxation contained either in the Constitution of
the State or in the laws of the State of Wyoming, applicable to the City of
Rock Springs. (Ord. No. 27-1, Rev. Ord. 1938; Rev. Ord. 1963).
9-102 Certificate by City Clerk.
The City Clerk shall, under the supervision of the Mayor, make out and
certify over his official signature the amount of money to be raised for
municipal purposes in the City of Rock Springs, and on or before the fourth
Monday in May of each year cause the same to be filed in the office of the
County Clerk. (Ord. No. 27-2, Rev. Ord. 1938; Rev. Ord. 1963).
