Fitness Class Descriptions:
The Rock Springs Family Recreation Center offers a
wide variety of
Fitness Classes for all levels and abilities.
The classes are structured
for the beginning to advanced participants.
Using a system of
modifications, all participants can be challenged
according to their
individual fitness needs. Each class is
designed to be a complete and
total body workout. Please feel free to

YOGA - MIND & BODY
Yoga class has a wide variety of exercises
incorporating Yoga flows -
stretching - poses - breathing and relaxation for
a complete
mind-body experience.
HATHA YOGA - Classical style format of
Yoga. Integrates breath and
movement for strength, flexibility, balance, focus
and relaxation. The
combination of asana sequencing and attention
to alignment make
the class suitable for both beginner and
intermediate students.
FUSION - Class incorporates Yoga with core
body conditioning.
Included are Yoga flows - stretching - poses and
exercises blended
with basic muscle toning and core conditioning
exercises.
BODY BAR CONDITIONING - Dynamic class
utilizing the Body Bar
System. Developing balance, power,
cardiovascular conditioning,
muscular strength and endurance and functional
movement all in
one class.
BODY SCULPT - This class is an open format
with a wide variety
of exercises which may include, fit ball, Body
Bar, weights, Glides,
bands, balls, and benches. Offering a highly
effective exercise class
for everyone.
STEP FREESTYLE - Step aerobics
class, may include basic
Step -
Step Interval (with weights) - In-Line Step - Double Step,
utilizing the
Reebok Step benches.
SPIN CITY CYCLING - Utilizing the specialty
Schwin Spinning stationary
bike with a 42 lbs. fly wheel. Although it
can be a very aggressive work-out,
each participant works out at their own pace and
level making this class
suitable for everyone. Heart rate monitors are available and encouraged
for all participants.
BEGINNING SPIN CITY CYCLING - Designed just
for the beginner.
CIRCUIT WEIGHT TRAINING - This class
is located in the machine weight room.
Class consists of a 5-10 minute warm-up, intervals
of cardio. segments
alternated with weight training segments on the
machines, followed by a
5 -10 minute cool down. Great way to
incorporate both cardiovascular
conditioning with weight training.
SPORTS CONDITIONING - A fun fitness
class designed with drills, courses and exercises to condition the
body as if one were training for a sport. Great total body
workout for everyone.
