Building Inspectors - responsible for assuring that all new construction within the City is consistent with Local, State and Federal law and actions taken by the City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Building Permit - Any person, firm or corporation desiring to construct, enlarge, alter, repair , move, convert, or demolish any building or structure in this jurisdiction must have a building permit. Many Lending institutions require proof of permits and inspections before loans are granted and proof of final inspection prior to loan closing. Many insurance companies now require mandatory inspections on fireplaces, remodeling, additions and basement finishes.
