Living Memorial Program

Individuals who wish to honor someone special can do so by making a donation to the Living Memorial Program.  A tree will be placed in a City of Rock Springs park, trail system, natural area or on other City owned property.  Parks and Recreation Department staff members will determine exactly where the tree will be placed, but will try to honor donor requests.  These tree donations are installed, maintained and protected by the City Parks Division.

This is a very unique and special way to honor someone (friend, beloved family member, group, pets, etc.) while contributing to the aesthetic beauty of our surrounding environment and providing our 'high plains desert community' with much needed greenery.

Since this program’s inception, over 25 trees have been planted in Rock Springs.  Costs range from $95 to $120 a tree, depending on the variety chosen.  A memorial plaque can be placed with the tree, for an additional charge.  For more information, contact Mark Lyon, Parks Superintendent, by calling 352-1400.
