Community Service Opportunities

Community Service is defined as "the performance of voluntary work or duties that are a public benefit, and that serve to improve the quality of life, enhance resident self-sufficiency, or increase resident self-responsibility in the community."

1) The Foster Grandparent Program is an intergenerational program that connects volunteers 55+ with opportunities to provide one-on-one mentoring, nurturing, and support to children who need it. It’s a Senior Corps program under the same Federal granting agency as AmeriCorps/VISTA. Currently they have 4 volunteers serving in 3 Rock Springs elementary schools, and are looking for more people that want to give back to their communities by tutoring and mentoring children.
