Water Reclamation Facility Collections Worker I - Full-time, benefited position with an entry level wage of $24.01 per hour. Under direction, to perform a variety of duties involved in cleaning, maintaining, and repairing the wastewater collection system. Participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of sewer systems; maintain sewer systems in operating order by sections. Inspect and clean the interiors of sewers and lift stations; conduct routine tests of sewer pipes; cut and remove roots, grease, and other obstacles from sewers. Remove and inspect manhole covers and manholes; mix, pour, and finish concrete to raise manholes to street surfaces; replace manhole covers as needed. Clean storm drains; remove water from flooded streets. Read maps, blueprints, and instruction in establishing routes and work schedules. Maintain simple records and logs; complete reports as necessary. Set up traffic barricades and control equipment. Observe safety precautions regarding traffic control, sewer entrance, trenching, excavating, and power equipment operation. Operate a variety of vehicles, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of wastewater collection systems. Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
