POSITION TITLE: Golf Shop Attendant
DEPARTMENT:
Golf Course

SUPERVISOR: Golf Professional    

GENERAL:

The employee will support the City of Rock Springs mission “To provide all individuals, through the combined efforts of city government and the people it serves, an effective, efficient and productive form of government, while promoting an enhanced quality of life, open communications and economic growth”.   

 

The employee will demonstrate the ability to manage time, maintain a safe and clean environment; practice confidentiality; treat all persons with respect and professional courtesy; accept change; accept and provide constructive feedback; and work as a team player.  The employee must also demonstrate the competencies for their position, and adhere to policies and procedures of their department and The City of Rock Springs.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Under administrative direction, perform a variety of duties related to the golf shop.  The employee will provide exceptional customer service to all golf patrons. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs a variety of duties including, but not limited to:

 

  1. Opening and closing duties related to golf shop.

 

  1. Answer telephone and set up tee times (following the procedures of the facility). Handle the check-in procedures and tee times for all customers.

 

  1. Inform customers about the facility (i.e. prices, sales promotions, special events, hours of operation, etc.).

 

  1. Maintain a neat and clean environment in the golf shop (clean counters, shelves and windows) and straighten merchandise and change displays to maintain a “fresh” look in the golf shop. Perform daily cleaning to include trash, vacuum, dust, bathrooms and locker room. 

 

  1. Sell and promote merchandise, assist with inventory restock merchandise. Responsible for cash drawer. 

 

  1. Assist in tournament preparations and operations during events.

 

  1. Perform other duties and responsibilities and assigned.

 

 

ABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

Has the knowledge, skills and ability to:

 

  1. Understand and apply basic knowledge of the game of golf.

 

  1. Use safe working practices, techniques, tools and equipment required.

 

  1. Understand and follow oral and written instructions.

 

  1. Operate a motor vehicle and ensure safe driving principles and practices.

 

  1. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, City Officials, outside agencies and the general public.

 

  1. Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including, but not limited to, golf patrons, employees, vendors and the general public.

 

  1. Plan and organize work to meet schedules and timelines and the ability to exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs.

 

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. 

           

            Experience:

            Previous experience in a customer service or retail setting. 

 

            Education:

            Equivalent to, or working towards, a high school diploma. 

 

            License or Certificate:

            Possession of a Wyoming Driver’s License.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:

 

            Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 50 lbs., exposure to cold, heat, noise, outdoors, chemicals, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards; ability to travel to different sites and locations.
