Utility Deposit Requirements

 

 

  • The City of Rock Springs does not, under normal circumstances, require an initial deposit from new customers. 
  • Renters may be required by their landlord/manager to place a security deposit with the City of Rock Springs to ensure payment of billing.

 

Any customer, residential or commercial who has been subject to delivery of delinquent billing notifications for three consecutive months may be billed a deposit equal to three times the average water and sewer billing at their location. 
  • Deposits are refundable after a reasonable period of good credit (six months or more) has been established. 
  • No late fees can be incurred during the re-establishing of good credit in order to qualify for refund. 
  • If a late fee is incurred, good credit evaluations start over.
