A certificate is provided with the adoption of any animal 12 weeks of age or younger which will cover the cost of the alteration. All animals adopted from RSAC are required to be vaccinated and altered within 6 months of adoptions. If you live in the city and adopt an animal from us, a city license will be given for free along with the adoption.

Please read the following:

• Any animal that is old enough at the time of adoption will be spayed/neutered and given their vaccinations before they go to their new home.
• We will only adopt out one animal at a time, with exception to nursing mothers, newborns that have not been weaned, and certain bonded pairs.
• There is a period of time needed for adoption approval after you submit the application, which can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days. If you have been approved for adoption and are able to pick up the animal you will receive a phone call once the animal is available. Please be aware you have until the shelter closes on the same day of contact to claim the animal. If you do not claim the animal or make arrangements with us to claim the animal before the shelter closes you will forfeit the adoption.
• Submission of an application is not a guarantee of adoption. We have started this application process in order to find the best homes for every animal.
• The adoption fee will be paid in full and in cash at the time of pick-up and no sooner.
• We will require a form of picture identification when you submit the application, such as a driver's license or passport.
• It is required that all animals be given their vaccinations by a licensed veterinarian within three (3) days of adopting from our facility and then the first city license will be provided by Animal Control free of charge. Every subsequent year, a license must be purchased.
• Applications are only valid for thirty (30) days after date of submission.
