Annual Kiwanis Club Shop with a Cop
The Rock Springs Police Department participates each December in the Shop with a Cop event hosted and sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. This year is was hosted at K-Mart on Dewar and each of the 35 children were given $125 gift cards and the opportunity to purchases whatever gifts they chose. In addition, the children were given a gift certificate to McDonald's for breakfast or lunch. It is an inspiring event for officers to volunteer their time to shop with these low income children. We had 8 of our RSPD officers volunteer this year for the event, along with other law officers from Wyoming Highway Patrol, Green River Police Department, and the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office.
